Bhubaneswar: A woman died after a car ran over her in front of the court premises in Bhubaneswar near on Monday afternoon.
The deceased has been identified as Babita Das (32).
According to sources, the accident took place when a car allegedly rammed into the motorcycle in which the woman was travelling with her husband and their young child. The ran then ran over the woman as she was thrown off the two-wheeler under the impact of the collision, leaving her with deep injuries in her head. She was rushed to Capital Hospital, where doctors declared her dead.
The driver of the car fled the scene immediately after the accident.
On being informed, police reached the spot and initiated an investigation to ascertain the circumstances leading to the accident.
