Woman Lecturer Found Dead At Male Friend’s Rented House In Odisha’s Keonjhar



Keonjhar: A guest lecturer of Government Women’s College in Odisha’s Keonjhar was found dead under mysterious circumstances at the rented accommodation of her male acquaintance on Wednesday.

The deceased has been identified as Priyanka Das, a resident of Talapada village in Balasore district. She taught Home Science in the college.

According to sources, the family received a phone call

from an individual, claiming to be her colleague. The caller stated that Priyanka accidentally fell while locking her house and was admitted to hospital. However, upon arriving at the house at Mining Colony under Town police limits, family members found injury marks on her neck, leading them to suspect that she might have been murdered.

“We strongly suspect foul play and demand a thorough investigation by the police,” Priyanka’s uncle Hemendra Prasad Das told reporters.

Meanwhile, police have detained Priyanka’s friend, Rudra Narayan Mishra, for questioning on the basis of the complaint lodged by Hemendra. The body has also been sent for postmoterm to determine the exact cause of the death.

Sources further said that it is being suspected that duo had tied the knot at a temple.
