Woman Maoist Gunned Down By Security Forces In Malkangiri

Malkangiri: A woman Maoist was gunned down in an encounter with security forces  Swabhiman area near Andrapali forest in Malkangiri district on Friday.

A gun and several explosives were seized from her possession.

Following the encounter, three other Maoist cadre surrendered before the security personnel.

“Acting on an information from a reliable source regarding presence of a Maoist camp in Swabhiman area, a joint operation was conducted by Special Operation Group (SOG) and Greyhound jawans at around 2 am. An exchange of fire between the security forces and the ultras that lasted for several hours ended early this morning after the death of the woman Maoist, who was wanted in several cases of violence”, informed ADG, Operations RP Koche.
