Rayagada/Bhubaneswar: A woman Maoist carrying a cash reward of Rs one lakh on her head surrendered before the police in Rayagada on Saturday to join the mainstream society, Rayagada SP K Siva Subramani said.
The Maoist, identified as Drembeli Dekasika alias Manjula, belonged to Niyamgiri-Kasipur dalam of the outlawed CPI (Maoist) and was involved in over half-a-dozen Maoist-related incidents, the SP informed.
All arrangements will be made for her rehabilitation in tune with the state government’s policy, police said.
On May 3, a woman Maoist Rashmita Sikoka alias Kuni along with five militia members of the CPI (Maoist) surrendered before the police in Rayagada district. The woman Maoist was also carrying a reward of Rs one lakh on her head.
