Aurangabad: A 27-year-old woman from Aurangabad allegedly married three men in three months to tide over financial crisis after she lost her job amid the pandemic-induced lockdown.
Within days of solemnization of each marriage, she looted those men of their valuables and fled.
She was arrested on Saturday after Yogesh Shirsath of Sinnar of Nashik, who was one of her victims, registered a complaint after his search for her led him to another man, whom she had cheated in a similar fashion.
According to a Times of India report, Amrute disappeared with ornaments a fortnight after her marriage with Shirsath. She then tied the knot with Sandeep Darade, a resident of Raogad’s Karjat and another man from western Maharashtra and cheated them too.
A married woman with a son, Amrute joined the racket after she and her husband lost their jobs, the report added.
