Keonjhar: In a tragic incident, a woman and her minor daughter reportedly died of snakebite in Odisha’s Keonjhar on Saturday.
As per reports, Sukhamani Munda and her two-year-old daughter of Rugudi Sahi in Murusuan village under Nayakot police station in Bansapal block of the district had gone to sleep in their house after taking dinner on Friday night.
When they got up in the morning, the mother and daughter felt dizzy and sick. As Sukhamani told her husband Suren Munda, he checked both of them and found marks of snakebite on their bodies.
As the condition of Sukhamani and her daughter deteriorated fast, Suren suspected that they must have been bitten by a poisonous snake and started making arrangements to take them to hospital. Meanwhile, his daughter succumbed.
The family members and villagers rushed Sukhamani to community health centre (CHC) at Bansapal where the doctors declared her brought dead.
On being informed, a team from Nayakot police station went to the village and started investigation.
