Cuttack: A senior woman official of the India Infoland Ltd (IIFL), Neelima Lenka was involved in hatching the plot for the loot of the finance company with prime accused Lala Amrit Ray.
Revealing this to media here, DCP Prateek Singh said during interrogation of Neelima, who has been detained by police, admitted that she had given the idea of loot to Amrit. Some other officials of the privates company are also involved in the crime.
On their modus operandi, the DCP said both Neelima and Amrit were in charge of maintaining the records of loanees. They used to manipulate the records by not entering the returned loan amount in the book and pocketed it themselves.
Similarly, they were not entering the return of mortgaged gold to the loanees in the record book. In the process, the record showed that the loan amount was not returned and the mortgaged gold was with the bank, the DCP said.
