Keonjhar: A woman pala singer and former panchayat samiti member was found dead at a village in Pandapada area of Odisha’s Keonjhar district on Monday.
It is suspected that the woman, identified as Satyabhama Singh, might have been stoned to death last night in her house at Binida village under the jurisdiction of Pandapada police station.
45-year-old Satyabhama, a former member of Binida Gram Panchayat, was also BJP vice president of Pandapada circle.
While it is suspected that some unidentified miscreants might have stoned the pala singer to death late on Sunday night, a clear picture is likely to emerge after police investigation.
On being informed, police personnel along with a scientific team reached the incident site this morning and launched an investigation. The body was sent for postmortem and the site was examined.
