Cuttack: A woman was killed as she was run over by a Mo Bus while getting down from the vehicle in Odisha’s Cuttack city on Tuesday.
According to sources, the woman, identified as Saraswati Gochhayat of CDA in the city, had boarded the bus from near her house in the evening to come to Cuttack.
After the bus arrived at the Netaji Bus Terminal, she started getting down but slipped on the steps and fell down. Other passengers of the bus shouted for the driver to stop. But the bus started rolling and ran over Saraswati.
She was rushed to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in the city. But the doctors in the hospital declared her brought dead.
Saraswati’s husband Laxman Gochhayat alleged that the bus driver, who was in inebriated condition, was responsible for reckless driving that led to the death of his wife.
