Jajpur: A middle-age woman lost her leg after falling off a moving train near Jenapur railway station in Odisha’s Jajpur district on Sunday night.

The woman, identified as Sabitri Das of Mundamal, was allegedly pushed out of the train by her husband Rabi Das in an inebriated state.

According to available information, the couple got into an argument over some family matter while on their way back from Balasore to Jajpur. A scuffle ensued and Rabi pushed her out of the train.

While the woman miraculously survived the mishap, her left leg was cut off from below the knee. She was initially admitted to Jajpur Road Community Health Centre and later shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as her condition deteriorated.

Rabhi, a native of West Bengal, is reportedly absconding after the incident.
