Woman Raped, Blade & Stones Inserted Into Her Private Parts In Mumbai; Auto Driver Held

Mumbai: The Mumbai Police arrested an autorickshaw driver on Friday for allegedly raping a 20-year-old woman and inserting a surgical blade and stones into her private parts, reports claimed.

According to reports, the woman, was found late on Tuesday night near Ram Mandir railway station in Goregaon. She reportedly told police she had travelled to Mumbai by train the previous day.

“Mumbai Police has registered a case of rape against the auto-rickshaw driver, Raj Ratan Walwal, who has been taken into custody. The auto driver allegedly raped a 20-year-old woman in Vasai area,” Smita Patil, DCP Zone 12, Mumbai Police told ANI.

When the woman was taken to a hospital, doctors found foreign objects, including a surgical blade and stones, forcibly inserted into her private parts. Doctors removed the items from her body and she is now undergoing treatment. After an extensive hunt, the auto driver was nabbed.

Did the woman insert the objects herself?

But there is much more to the story. After preliminary investigation, cops believe the woman put the objects in her body herself, reported NDTV.

Police sources told NDTV the young woman lives with her family in Nalasopara, a township within the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and that she inserted the stone and blade into her body to avoid being scolded and beaten by her parents – for being raped by the auto-rickshaw driver.

According to the NDTV report, the young woman and the auto-rickshaw driver went to the Arnala Beach together and planned to spend the night there. Due to lack of identity cards, the woman and the auto driver couldn’t get a room in the hotel and thus stayed on the beach, where she was allegedly raped, NDTV reported. Later, the woman bought the blade and gathered some stones to get those inserted inside her body, afraid of her family reaction, reports claimed. Police believe the woman has mental health issues.
