Even as the country is recovering from the horrific Hathras gang rape case, another incident of brazen and brutal attack on woman has been reported from Uttar Pradesh. A 25-year-old woman was thrown out of a moving car on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in UP’s Unnao district after she tried to resist a rape attempt by her nephew and his friend.
According to police officials, the accused tried to rape the woman in the car they were travelling in. The cornered woman struggled to keep the two men at bay, but one of the accused tried to strangulate her using his belt, the Hindustan Times reported.
As the woman lost consciousness, the culprits threw her off the car thinking that she had passed away, police officials said quoting the woman’s complaint.
Unnao SP Anand Kulkarni said employees of UP Expressways Industrial Development Authority spotted the woman lying on the road and rescued her. She has been admitted to a hospital and the accused have been arrested.
