Keonjhar: A woman Revenue Inspector (RI) reportedly fainted after Ghasipura Tehsildar in Odisha’s Keonjhar district allegedly shouted and verbally abused her over phone.
In a complaint lodged with the police, the RI’s husband alleged that the Tehsildar of Ghasipura had been harassing his wife for the last several months. The Tehsildar frequently harassed and tortured her mentally, he claimed.
Stating that the Tehsildar had asked his wife, who is the RI of Kesadurapala, to reach his office with some file, he said as the RI failed to comply with the instruction the official got furious.
Infuriated over the inability to reach office with the file, the Tehsildar telephoned the RI and scolded her. He also threatened to suspend her. After being subjected to mental torture and harassment, the RI fainted, her husband claimed.
The RI’s colleagues and family members rushed her to Anandpur hospital where she is stated to be stable.
Her family members also alleged that the lady RI was harassed mentally by the Tehsildar for the last four months.
The Tehsildar was not available immediately to make any comment.
