Paradip: A woman was run over by a speeding truck near Tarinigoda Chhak at Paradip on Sunday.
The deceased was identified as Lucky Parida, a resident of Panapalli village. The accident took place when the victim was crossing the road.
Irked over the mishap, a group of local residents staged a blockade near the accident spot demanding immediate construction of speed breakers and appropriate measures for traffic management.
Being informed about the incident, district administration officials rushed to the spot and assured the agitators that speed breaks will soon be constructed on the busy road.
