Sambalpur: A woman, who was allegedly set on fire by her in-laws on February 13, died while undergoing treatment on Friday.
The deceased, identified as Jyotirmayee Satpathy, was admitted to VIMSAR in Burla with critical burn injuries on the day of the incident.
According to sources, Jyotirmayee was staying at VSS Colony in Hirakud with her husband Smruti Ranjan Nayak. She had an argument with her husband on Wednesday, following which, her in-laws allegedly poured kerosene on her and set her on fire. She was rescued by locals, who admitted her to VIMSAR with 90 per cent burns.
Meanwhile, the police have arrested the accused husband, father-in-law and mother-in-law on the basis of the statement of victim’s minor daughter.
