Deogarh: Police have arrested a woman for allegedly killing his 14-year-old son in Odisha’s Deogarh town on July 1.

The boy has been identified as Niku Sunain of Rajamunda Chhak sahi

Police began a probe into the incident on basis of a complaint lodged by the father of the deceased, accusing his wife of murdering their son.

Investigation revealed that the mother, Mili Sunain, had an extramarital affair with one Ranjan Nayak. She would beat Niku whenever he opposed her illicit relationship and forbade him for speaking about it to anyone. “On the fateful day, the mother-son got into a heated argument around 9 am after Mili returned home after dropping her daughter at school. In a fit rage, she then strangulated him to death using a saree,” a police officer told the media.
