Woman Traffic Constable Attacked In Puri

Puri: A woman traffic constable was allegedly beaten up by a person and his sister at Market Chhack in Puri on Friday night.

The constable identified as Sabita Pradhan was admitted to the district headquarters hospital after sustaining injuries in the attack.

As per information, the accused, Jyotiprakash Samantaray had allegedly assaulted the cop for stopping his vehicle while he was travelling with his sister Debjani.

While Jyotiprakash was arrested for committing the crime, her sister was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack after she complained of illness during her detention at the police station.

Meanwhile the injured constable alleged that she was beaten up by about three to four local youth for detaining the vehicle after its occupants forcibly attempted to break the traffic signal.
