Rourkela: A woman was trampled to death by an elephant at Kopasinga village under Bisra police limits in Sundargarh district late on Tuesday.
The victim identified as Padma Munda was sleeping in her house when the wild animal dragged her out and attacked her with its trunk. She was killed on the spot.
Following the incident, a group of angry villagers staged a road block with the woman’s body demanding adequate compensation for the kin of the deceased and immediate steps to check jumbo menace in the locality.
