Balangir: A woman and her two children were found dead in their house Kapani village under Belapada block in Balangir district under mysterious circumstances on Monday.
The deceased have been identified as Sunita Rana, her seven-year-old daughter Lisa and two-year-old son Lokesh.
According to available information, Sunita’s husband Bhikara Rana, who had gone to a nearby forest to collect firewood, found the bodies of the trio hanging inside the house after reaching home. Following which he alerted the locals and police.
Though the exact reason behind the death of the three is yet to be ascertained, neighbours suspect that Sunita committed suicide after killing her children over a family dispute.
Police have seized the bodies for post-mortem to determine the cause of death.
