Balasore: Rajashree (Mita) Kamila, who hurled eggs at Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, got conditional bail from the judicial magistrate (first track) (JMFC) court of Jaleswar on Thursday.

On January 31, Rajashree, wife of a BJP worker in Bhograi, 90 km from here, threw eggs at Naveen during the inaugural ceremony of Talashari Beach festival while the latter delivering his speech. The eggs fell short of the Chief Minister. She got injured after a mob heckled her at the venue. She was subsequently hospitalised.

Rajashree had reportedly resorted to such an act as she was aggrieved over the police taking her husband Dilip into custody to prevent any untoward incident during Naveen’s visit. On Wednesday, Dilip got conditional bail from Jaleswar additional sessions judge court.

Jaleswar JMFC Sumitra Sahu granted 30-year-old Rajashree bail on condition of two sureties worth Rs 10,000 and deposit of Rs 5,000 in the court. The court directed Rajashree not to repeat such an act and also help the investigating officer in the case. Otherwise the bail will be cancelled, informed prosecuting counsel Laxmikanta Das.

Police had booked Rajashree sections 120 (A) (intending to commit offence punishable with imprisonment), 120 (B) (criminal conspiracy), 307 (attempt to murder) of Criminal Procedure Code and sections 506 (criminal intimidation), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt to deter public servant from doing duty), 353 (assault to prevent public servant from doing duty) of Indian Penal code and forwarded her to jail custody.  After widespread criticism, police dropped the non-bailable section 307 against Rajashree.
