Balangir: Bare body of a woman was found at Muribahal under Titlagarh police limits in Balangir district on Thursday.
According to available information, some locals spotted the body tied to a tree in a forest area and alerted the police.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the woman was stabbed in the chest with a sharp weapon after being raped by a group of miscreants. Police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem.
Locals told police that said that the woman does not belong to any of the nearby villages and she could have been brought to this place by the killers.
