Bhubaneswar: Body of a married woman was recovered from a hotel room at Mancheswar here on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Laxmipriya Biswal.
According to police sources, Laxmipriya had been staying with a male friend in the hotel for the last two days. However, her male friend was nowhere around when the body was found in the hotel room.
A fake Aadhaar card bearing the name of Aditya Mohapatra was recovered from the spot.
Though the reason behind the incident is unclear, the police and hotel authority suspect that the woman was murdered by her male friend.
Police have started investigation by verifying the CCTV footage of the hotel.
Family members of the deceased have been informed about the incident.
