Kalahandi: “Women are the real double engine of the development of society. The BJD Government has always been giving emphasis on the development of women. We will provide free education to girls. Medical assistance for women under BSKY will be hiked from Rs 7 lakh to Rs 10 lakh,” said Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik during his campaign in the Jayapatana Assembly Constituency and Narla in Kalahandi district on Tuesday.

Naveen also promised to provide work guarantee of up to Rs 5,000 crore under Mission Shakti.

He also asked the people about why the KBK Yojana and scholarship of ST/SC students, introduced by the Centre were stopped.

Besides, Naveen urged the people to vote for BJD’s MP and MLA candidates.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today went to Maa Manikeswari Peetha at Bhawanipatna for darshan in the morning. Thereafter, he started campaigning.

“We have a great response here. BJD will have a good result in the upcoming election. We will take many steps for the development of the people of Kalahandi,” said Naveen.
