Women Employees Barred From Entering Ministry In Kabul

Kabul: Female employees have been barred from entering the Ministry of Women Affairs in Kabul by the Taliban. They allowed only men inside the building, an employee of the ministry said.

“Four women were not allowed to enter the building,” the employee was quoted as saying by Sputnik news agency.

The women are contemplating protesting the move near the ministry.

After the Taliban captured Afghanistan again after 20 years, experts opined that women in Afghanistan are most likely to face an uncertain future under the terrorist group regime.

The ultraconservative Islamic regime is still fresh in the memories of previous generations that saw regular stoning, amputations and public executions during Taliban rule before the US-led invasion that followed the 9/11 terror attacks, reported news agency ANI.

“Taliban are committed to providing women with their rights based on Islam. Women can work in the health sector and other sectors where they are needed. There will be no discrimination against women,” Taliban spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid said.
