Bhubaneswar: Women empowerment is one of the topmost priorities of my government, emphasised chief minister Naveen Patnaik while inaugurating a Facebook workshop for women entrepreneurs and Mission Shakti groups here on Thursday.
“I had earlier stressed on the use of three Ts- technology, teamwork and transparency to bring about transformation in the lives of our people. This is amply demonstrated today in the partnership of the government with Facebook, aimed at reducing the digital divide and empowering nearly 25,000 entrepreneurs and self-help groups over the next one year,” he said.
Stating that the workshop will be mutually beneficial to urban women entrepreneurs and their sisters in rural Odisha, the chief minister stressed that the focus of the government is growth, which is inclusive and equitable. “The MSME sector plays a major role in bringing about such growth. It contributes significantly to GDP, exports and employment generation. Our new skill development mission aims to make ‘Skilled in Odisha’ a brand across the globe,” he added.
The workshop was attended by MSME Minister Prafulla Samal, Odisha Skill Development Authority Chairman Subroto Bagchi, Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi, Development Commissioner R. Balakrishnan, MSME Additional Chief Secretary LN Gupta and Rajat Dora of Facebook.
