A woman journalist was shot at by a group of masked men while she was driving in New Delhi’s Vasundhara Enclave area, police said on Sunday.
The victim, Mitali Chandola, was driving her car around 12:30 am on Sunday when another vehicle suddenly overtook her, NDTV quoted police as saying.
Some masked men inside the car fired two shots at her. The bullets pierced through the front windshield and one of them hit her hand, the NDTV report said. Mitali told police the attackers also threw eggs on her car’s windshield before speeding away.
She has been admitted in a Delhi hospital and is out of danger.
Police said they were investigating whether any gang that targets motorists at night with eggs to distract and rob them were involved in the attack.
