Bhubaneswar: Woman power was once again on display at Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s virtual campaign for Pipili-Delang candidate Rudra Pratap Maharathy on Monday.
Interacting with the voters of the Assembly constituency on virtual mode from Bhubaneswar, the BJD president made a special appeal to women to come out in large numbers and exercise their franchise.
The Chief Minister in his speech said “Be it the farmers’ issue of the welfare of the poor, Odisha has made a mark for itself at the National-level. The mothers of Odisha are leading several projects under Mission Shakti. This is a major achievement in the direction of women empowerment which the party has always stood for,” he said.
Calling upon the people to vote for the conch symbol of the BJD, the CM said he would personally look after the development of Pipili-Delang.
Naveen said he would have personally visited the constituency and met the people if COVID-19 had not been there. He said “As COVID-19 restrictions are in place I am not able you all electorate of Pipili personally.”
He went on to say, “Had I been to Pipili, you all would have turned up in large numbers to bless me. I do not want that anyone should be harmed because of me during the coronavirus time. Therefore, I came before you through video conferencing.”
The Chief Minister lastly asked the people to be very careful about coronavirus and said the second wave of COVID-19 has hit. We all must ensure to put on masks while moving out of homes.”
