Keonjhar: A group of women vandalized two liquor manufacturing units at Janardhanpur in Keonjhar district on Friday.
Hundreds of people, mostly women, from nearby villages armed with lathis raided the units and destroyed several liquor bottles stored there.
“The liquor units had been operating in the locality for several days. Owing to presence these liquor units in the locality, women feel unsafe and our daily activities have largely been affected. We were forced to take the matter into our own hands after repeated appeals to the district administration failed to elicit any action”, an agitator said.
