Women vandalize liquor shop, thrash trader in Balasore

Balasore: A group of women vandalized a liquor shop at Bata village under Bhograi block in Balasore district on Friday.

The agitators thrashed the person allegedly involved in illegal vending of liquor and later staged a blockade on Balasore-Chandeneswar road by burning tyres.

“The girls and women passing through the area have to bear with lewd comments from boys sitting and drinking outside the shop as it is located near a residential area. Despite several requests, the district administration paid no heed to our grievances. With no other option, we decided to take the matter into our own hands,” a
protestor said.
