Thiruvananthapuram: Odisha brightened their chances of qualifying from Elite Group B by beating Tripura for their third straight match in the BCCI Senior Women’s T20 meet on Thursday.
Tripura chose to bat first at St Xavier’s KCA ground, but lost a wicket each in the first two overs and never recovered. MK Rabidas top-scored with 26 while seven batters failed to reach double figures as Tripura were skittled out for 85 in 19.2 overs.
All six Odisha bowlers were among wickets, with Sujata Mallick, Rameswari Naik and Sushree Dibyadarshini bagging two wickets each.
Chasing a low target, Odisha got off to a steady start with skipper Madhusmita Behera (28) and Kajal Jena (25) putting on 52 runs for the opening wicket in 1in 3 on 30.3 overs.
Sarita Meher remained unbeaten on 20 as Odisha crossed the line with an over and 7 wickets to spare.
Odisha outplayed Bihar by 7 wickets and Chhattisgarh by 71 runs in their first two matches.
They will face Jharkhand on April 22 and Tamil Nadu on April 24.
