Bargarh: Sounds incredible, but true. An eight-year-old girl of Bargarh district can see anything blindfolded.
“The things that I see with open eyes, I can also see blindfolded. I can also tell the numbers, alphabets and even work out mathematical problems,” said Alisha Agrawal, (fondly called Barbie), a Class III student of Vikash First-aid School in Bargarh town.
Asked how she could discover this phenomenon, she said it happened earlier this month. “One day, I was playing inside the home when I called my mother and told her to blindfold me. Then I asked her to show any object and colour. What she placed before me, I said it correctly,” she said.
Alisha lives with her father Dinesh and mother Nupur at Shyamakali Enclave in Bargarh town’s Kali Mandir Pada.
“At first I thought that my daughter was kidding me. But as she insisted, I blindfolded her and asked her to tell the numbers, alphabets and the colours which I kept in front of her and she told correctly. Later, I gave her some mathematical additions and subtractions and also gave her a book to read it aloud and she did all these flawlessly. I feel that this is the gift of God to my daughter,” said Alisha’s mother.
Talking to the media, Alisha’s father said though he was very happy that his daughter has an extraordinary ability, he was still apprehensive about her future. “I feel that this unusual phenomenon could be due to her extraordinary brain function. I have decided to consult an expert on this matter,” he added.
