Worker’s Body Found Inside Ship At Odisha’s Paradip Port

Paradip: Body of a labourer was found inside a foreign ship at Paradip port in Odisha’s Jagatsinghpur district under mysterious circumstances on Tuesday, sparking tension in the area.

The deceased was identified as Bibhuti Barik, who hailed from Badamba Narasinghpur area in Cuttack district.

While the exact reason behind the death is yet to be ascertained, preliminary investigation indicated the worker could have died due to suffocation inside the hatch of the ship.

Sources said Barik had been on night duty two days back and was engaged in cleaning work after unloading of the consignment. As his body was recovered after so many hours, it is suspected that he was unable to exit and was trapped due to covering of the hatch.

After being informed, police have started investigation and probe is underway
