Bhubaneswar: In order to groom and hone the skills of children who are learning to play football, Indian Super League Club Odisha FC organised a curated Coach Education Workshop for local coaches at Kalinga Stadium on Tuesday. It was conducted by head coach, Josep Gombau and assistant coach, Thangboi Shingto. Eleven local coaches from different parts of the state attended the workshop.
After watching the senior team practice at the stadium, the local coaches attended both theory and practical sessions. Josep Gombau said, “We want to help all the local coaches who are working with children in Odisha. We need to ensure that the children have a good training session, which will help them to grow and help us to get better young players. Children are the future and this programme will be good for Odisha, for Odisha FC and also for the Indian national team.”
Head of Football Development, Odisha FC Aakash Narula said, “As a first step to create good players we need good coaches. Such workshops are a must to achieve that.”
