Singapore: In a first, US President Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un met at a hotel in Sentosa, an island close to the main Singapore island. This is the first time that a sitting US President is meeting the North Korean leader, and is being looked as a turnaround in the relations between the two countries.
“I think the entire world is watching this moment. Many people in the world will think of this as a scene from a fantasy, science-fiction movie,” North Korean leader Kim Jong-un said after the meeting. “We overcame all kinds of scepticism about this summit and I believe that this is good for the peace. We have let go of the past and now the world will see a major change,” Kim added.
The two leaders signed a ‘comprehensive’ document.
US President Donald Trump looked positive too and said that such meeting would be planned in future. “We will meet again and we will meet many times,” Trump said. He also replied in the affirmative when asked if he would invite Kim to the White House.’’
