World Cup Final: Hotel Prices Surge In Ahmedabad, Airfares Go Up

New Delhi: The Men In Blue will take on the Aussies at the ICC World Cup Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The nation has been waiting for this day ever since the World Cup schedule was announced.

With cricket-crazy fans headed for Ahmedabad, there is a massive spike in flight and hotel prices. Hotels in Ahmedabad and nearby areas saw a rise in prices even during the India Vs Pakistan match that took place earlier in the World Cup. This time too, cricket enthusiasts are on a booking spree to avail the best deal possible in Ahmedabad.

Santosh Kumar, Country Manager for India, Sri Lanka, Maldives and Indonesia at Booking.com, told News18, “The anticipation of witnessing the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup 2023 live has resulted in an undeniable increase in travel demand and accommodation in the host cities across India. With India making it to the finals, the excitement to watch the men in blue play live has led to a spike in searches for Ahmedabad for the finals.”

Moneycontrol reported that within October, the ticket prices for hotels increased from Rs 24,000 per night to Rs 2,15,000 per night. There has been a massive increase in hotel rates at hotel booking platforms like Booking.com, MakeMyTrip, and Agoda.
