Bhubaneswar: Prem Anand, a leading music director of Odisha, has had the honour of composing the anthem for next month’s Men’s Hockey World Cup in Bhubaneswar and Rourkela.
Titled ‘Phir Goonz Uthahey Sankhanaad’, the anthem seeks to make hockey popular across India, informed Anand.
The anthem will be officially unveiled on January 11.
“I am grateful to Hockey India for giving me this big opportunity to compose this anthem. I am very hopeful that it would be loved by one and all and help promote hockey across the length and breadth of our country,” Prem Anand told OB.
Renowned Bollywood lyricist Sameer has penned the song, while popular singer Sukhwinder Singh has lent his voice.
“We have completed the recording of the anthem. Work on visualisation is currently underway,” revealed Anand, who is currently based in Mumbai.
