Would Be Groom Ends Up On Funeral Pyre Due To COVID-19 In Odisha’s Bhadrak

Bhadrak: A youth who would have donned his wedding attire today, ended up wearing a shroud. What is more, his last rites were conducted by the village sarpanch and a medical team from the district administration.

Chandramani Nath, 28, of Nath Sahi who was scheduled to get married today could not fight COVID-19 and died four days before his big day in Asurali area under Kothar panchayat here.

Initially, Chandramani was supposed to get married on June 11 but he developed a fever a few days before the marriage and got a COVID-19 test done. Since he tested positive, the marriage was postponed to June 18 and Chandramani was in home isolation. According to his family, he was following the advice of doctors and recovering well. The family continued with the wedding arrangements.

What is more, they even distributed the invitation cards and completed the pre-wedding rituals. On June 13, Chandramani suddenly developed breathing issues and his oxygen saturation dropped. He breathed his last the next day even while the family was preparing to shift him to the hospital.
