‘Wouldn’t Dare To Do This With Salman Khan’: Ram Kapoor Faces Backlash After Halting ‘Lock Upp’ Task

Mumbai: Actor Ram Kapoor finds himself at the centre of an online controversy after a clip from his appearance on ‘Lock Upp’ went viral.

The video shows the actor halting a task midway, prompting a wave of criticism from social media users who accused him of behaving in an entitled manner.

Many netizens argued that Ram won’t have behaved the same way if Salman Khan had been the host.

The first task of ‘Lock Upp Season 2’ required the two safe contestants, Harshad Chopra and Akanksha Chamola, to use paintball guns to stop the unsafe contestants from reaching a buzzer.

The unsafe inmates had to dodge the paintball shots and make it to the buzzer to earn immunity from this week’s elimination.

After failing to reach the safe zone, Ram was seen asking jailer Riteish Deshmukh for a glass of water.

Warning the makers of the show, Ram said, “I have been asking for water for a long time, you guys are making us do this not giving water, it’s not right. Send water.”

However, when his request for water remained unfulfilled until the task was nearly over, Ram stopped the game by standing in the middle of the task area and refusing to move.

When jailer Riteish warned that he could be hit by a paintball, Ram responded, “Lagane do, aajao maaro (Let it hit me, go ahead and shoot)”.

Riteish then reminded Ram that all contestants had already been given water bottles and that it was their responsibility to carry them during the task.

After hearing the explanation, Ram accepted it and allowed the game to continue.

As the clip went viral after the episode aired, social media users were quick to pull up Ram.

One commented, “This is just too much Ram Kapoor.”

Another wrote, “Why is he overacting so much?”

One person commented, “he wouldn’t dare to do all this in front of Salman Khan.”

“This was so embarrassing, pure entitled behaviour,” said one user.

“Maybe he forgot he is in Lock Upp, why would he get any special treatment?” questioned one netizen.

Hosted by Riteish and Farah Khan, the new season of ‘Lock Upp’ features 15 contestants. The show streams on Netflix, with new episodes streaming every Saturday to Wednesday at 8 pm.
