Berhampur: An 11-year-old boy died due to alleged medical negligence at a private hospital at Gate Bazaar here.
Sources said the deceased, Nagraj Sethi, had been suffering from swollen throat since August 22. He was initially admitted to the city hospital and later shifted to the private hospital.
A doctor at the private hospital gave the boy an injection on Friday. Following this, his health condition deteriorated and he died.
Nagraj’s family accused the doctor of giving him a wrong injection and created a ruckus at the hospital. They also lodged a complaint of medical negligence against the hospital at the Town police station.
Police said the exact cause of death would be ascertained after a postmortem.
