Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Human Rights Commission (OHRC) on Monday set the time limit for bursting crackers during the X-Mas and New Year celebrations in the state.
The Commission said that as per Supreme Court guidelines, people are allowed to burst crackers between 11.35 pm and 12.30 am during Christmas and New Year’s eve. They will be taken to task if they are found bursting crackers before and beyond the specified hours.
The Commission has directed officers of all the police stations in the state to strictly adhere to the apex court guidelines and initiate action for any such violation.
