Bhubaneswar: The students of the Xavier University Bhubaneswar (XUB) and their parents will stage a dharna against unilateral, vindictive, autocratic, discriminatory and punitive actions of the authorities of the university against the students on Tuesday at its new campus located at Kurki near Harirajpur in Puri district.
The students have alleged that the XIMB-XUB authorities have cheated them and committed a breach of trust by denying the XIMB logo in their MBA Degree Certificate.
In order to prevail upon the authorities for use of XIMB logo the students of MBA-HRM, RM and SM of 2016-18 batch had demonstrated on February 13 inside the new campus. Enraged by the demonstration, the university authorities have not put the XIMB logo in the MBA Degree certificate of 242 students.
The authorities have also deducted the already declared marks in 4th, 5th and 6th semester and making it 5.50 for 65 students in a discriminatory manner, the students informed the media on Monday.
Besides, the university authorities have issued the conduct certificate with “Unsatisfactory” remarks to the 65 students, they added.
They also said there are several instances where the XIMB logo and name are used to get the students admitted for MBA course. But depriving them of the XIMB logo with name for the MBA Degree is a breach of trust and assurance which the institution has given to its students across the country, they pointed out.
