Mumbai: The year which we are about to bid goodbye to has seen many fresh faces delivering impressive performances in films and web series. Here’s a look at the eye-catching young talents of the year:

Junaid Khan in ‘Maharaj’

Bollywood perfectionist Aamir Khan’s son Junaid Khan made his debut with ‘Maharaj’, in which he played a journalist exposing corruption in pre-independence India. Directed by Siddharth P. Malhotra, ‘Maharaja’ was released in theatres on June 14, and was available on Netflix from July 12.

Lisa Mishra in ‘Call Me Bae’

Known for her melodious voice, singer Lisa Mishra made her acting debut in the OTT film ‘Call Me Bae.’ Lisa portrayed the character of a modern, independent woman exploring the complexities of life and relationships.

Nitanshi Goel in ‘Laapataa Ladies’

Actress Nitanshi Goel delivered an impressive performance in Kiran Rao’s ‘Laapataa Ladies.’ She played the character of Phool Kumari, a young bride who gets exchanged with another newly-wed girl during a train journey to their respective in-laws’ places, and gets lost in a rural, patriarchal setup.

Lakshya in ‘Kill’

Newcomer Lakshya’s character as a ruthless protagonist in Karan Johar’s ‘Kill’ was one of the most talked about in the industry. Lakshya played an NSG commando in the action thriller film which is inspired by a train robbery.

Rishabh Shawney in ‘Fighter’

Rishabh Shawney dared to take up a negative role in his debut film ‘Fighter’, which also starred popular actors Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in lead roles. As a villain, Rishabh delivered a terrifying performance that left bowled over audiences everywhere.

Janki Bodiwala in ‘Shaitaan’

Gujarati actor Janki Bodiwala made her Bollywood debut in ‘Shaitaan’. She played the character of Ajay Devgn and Jyotika’s daughter, and had a key role in the film. What impressed everyone was how she performed the challenging role with ease.
