Bhubaneswar: Rain coupled with thundershower and lighting is likely to lash at least nine districts of Odisha, including Bhubaneswar and Cuttack cities, on Friday evening, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a nowcast warning.
While issuing the nowcast warning at 4 pm, the weather agency also sounded yellow alert.
It said rain, thundershower and lightning may affect some parts of Mayurbhanj, Jajpur, Dhenkanal, Bhadrak, Balasore, Khurda (including Bhubaneswar), Nayagarh, Kendrapada and Cuttack (including Cuttack city) within next three hours.
People have been advised to keep a watch on the weather and accordingly move to safer places to protect from lightning strike.
