Bhubaneswar: Odisha is likely to experience thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 40-50 kmph till April 9 morning, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) informed on Friday.
There is also possibility of hailstorm at one or two places in Kandhamal, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Keonjhar, Bhadrak, Balasore and Mayurbhanj till Saturday morning. While Met office has forecast light to moderate rain in south and coastal districts of the state during the next five days, yellow warning for thunderstorm and lightning has also been issued for April 9. There will be no large change in the day temperature during the next 4-5 days, it added.
Malkangiri had recorded the highest temperature of 39.5 degree Celsius in the last 24 hours. The twin cities of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack recorded 37.6 degree Celsius and 37.4 degree Celsius respectively. The day temperature is likely to touch 39 degree Celsius in these cities in the next 7 days.
