Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued yellow warning of thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 kmph for one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapada on March 28.
Light to moderate rain or thundershower is also likely at one or two places in Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur and Kendrapada during this period.
This would come after three days of dry spell in Odisha.
The Met office had last predicted light to moderate rain or thundershower at one or two places over the districts of Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Koraput on March 24.
It also said that the day temperature will remain 3-4 degree celsius above normal at many places, including Bhubaneswar, during the next 4-5 days.
Malkangiri was the hottest place in the state on Tuesday at 40 degree Celsius followed by Balangir (39.2 degree Celsius), Talcher (39.1 degree Celsius) while both Bhubaneswar and Nayagarh recorded 39 degree Celsius.
