Cuttack: Popular Ollywood actor and standup comedian Papu Pom Pom is again in the news as a lady lawyer has accused him of misbehaving with her.
The lady lawyer, in her complaint lodged with the Cuttack Sadar Police Station on Tuesday, has alleged that the Ollywood actor and some of his associates had misbehaved with her and made objectionable gestures while she had gone to a hotel in Cuttack on Monday. Soon after the incident, she lodged a telephonic complaint with the Sadar Police Station by dialing 100.
She further alleged that the actor had deliberately misbehaved with her as she had fought a case in which he had committed atrocity against a minor girl.
Acting on the complaint, police has begun investigation.
Reacting to the complaint, the actor said the lady lawyer should come up with concrete evidence. Stating that an attempt has been made to tarnish his reputation, he said let the police examine the footage of the CCTV cameras in the hotel.
“Neither I have seen this lady before and nor was aware of her presence in the hotel. I am planning to file a defamation suit against her for lodging a false complaint against me,” he added.
It may be recalled that Papu Pom Pom and his associate Pradipta Swain were arrested on June 30, 2016 for allegedly exploiting a minor girl on the pretext of giving her a break in Ollywood. A complaint in this regard was lodged at Mahila police station by a Bhubaneswar-based NGO.
The Orissa High Court granted them conditional bail on August 10 in the same year.
