Puri: Yet another fire broke out near the Puri railway station in Odisha on Saturday morning, a day after the blaze in the Laxmi Market Complex was extinguished after 36 hours of rigorous operation.
According to sources, a garbage pile near the railway track caught fire near the station. No one was hurt in the incident.
However, the reason for the fire is yet to be known. Locals immediately informed the railway authorities. Later fire service personnel swung into action and brought the fire under control.
It was found that the garbage dump and nearby bushes were gutted in the fire. However, there was no report of damage to assets of the railways.
It may be noted here that just a few hours after the blaze in Laxmi Market Complex at Marichikot Chhak on Grand Road in the pilgrim town was completely doused on Friday, another fire broke out in Niladri Market Complex in the evening. Niladri Market Complex is just a few yards away from Laxmi Market Complex.
Sources said, the fire broke out in a handloom showroom inside the market complex. On being informed, fire service personnel swung into action and the fire fighting exercise is on.
