Mumbai: An upset Sonakshi Sinha called out media for invasion of privacy after mom-to-be Katrina Kaif’s pictures from the balcony of her residence were shared on social media.
On Friday, a media portal posted pictures of pregnant Katrina, sitting in the balcony of her Mumbai residence, along with the caption, “Exclusive: Katrina Kaif steps out on her balcony as she nears her delivery date.”
The photos irked social media users, who criticized the portal for crossing ethical boundaries.
A comment read, “This is not reporting. It’s harassment.”
Another user wrote, “Absolutely shameful to photograph someone inside their home.”
One commented, “Pregnancy is such a personal phase. Give her the dignity she deserves.”
Another wrote, “What happened to basic decency?”
“Disgusted. This should be illegal,” a comment read.
One shared, “She’s always been private, this invasion is unacceptable.”
Actress Sonakshi Sinha also condemned the portal for clicking Katrina’s pictures without her consent.
Voicing her disapproval in the comments section, Sonakshi wrote, “What is wrong with you? Photographing a woman in her own home without consent and publishing it on a public platform? You all are nothing less than criminals. Shameful.”
Following backlash, the media portal deleted the post.
Lauding Sonakshi for speaking up, a fan commented, “Glad someone said it.”
Another user wrote, “Great of her to call them out so boldly and strongly. She’s absolutely right here.”
A third added, “This is so nice of her to call them out. Much needed.”
Another comment read, “So true, Sona, this is pathetic.”
In September, Bollywood actors Katrina Kaif and Vicky Kaushal took to Instagram to announce the pregnancy.
Along with a picture of themselves, they posted, “On our way to start the best chapter of our lives with hearts full of joy and gratitude.”
