Young Couple Attempts Suicide In Puri Hotel, Girl Dies

Puri: A young couple allegedly attempted suicide at a hotel in Puri town on Saturday.

The girl died in a hospital while the youth was shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack in a critical condition.

“The youth identified as Ashish Pradhan, hailing from Chandanpur arrived at the hotel along with the girl, and asked for a room. However, the duo was denied room they could not produce any identity proof,” informed hotel owner Pradip Dash.

Moments later, the two were found lying in an unconscious state on the veranda of the hotel with foam oozing out of their mouths, Dash said.

They were immediately rushed to Puri district headquarters hospital, where the girl succumbed while undergoing treatment.

Further investigation into the matter is on.
