Jharsuguda: In another incident of waterfall related mishap in Odisha, a young engineer reportedly died of drowning in a waterfall in Jharsuguda district on Sunday.
According to sources, the engineer, identified as Brajeswar Behera of Bhubaneswar, was working in a private firm in Sambalpur district. He had gone on a picnic with his friends to the waterfall at Koilighugar under Rengali police limits in the district.
While bathing in the waterfall, Brajeswar was swept away by a strong current and went missing. On being informed, a police team along with Fire service personnel from Lakhanpur went to the spot and started search operation.
After searching for a long time, the Fire personnel found the body of Brajeswar and handed it over to the police.
Rengali police has registered a case of unnatural death in this connection and started investigation. They have sent Brajeswar’s body for post-mortem.
It may be noted that two brothers died of drowning while taking selfie near a waterfall in Malkangiri district on Saturday.
